This individual is responsible for registering the startup and participating in the challenge on the company's behalf. By participating in this challenge as a startup, you represent and warrant to the Sponsor that: (i) the designated individual is a duly authorized representative of the startup and is participating in the challenge on behalf of the company; and (ii) all necessary approvals have been obtained from all persons entitled to grant intellectual property rights to the Sponsor for purposes of participating in the challenge.
The objectives of the Program are as follows:
- (i) During the selection phase, to identify and select startups with technologies, proposals, or solutions that meet the requirements established by the Sponsor as outlined in the Program's themes and categories, and whose business activities are well-suited to collaboration with companies in Aichi Prefecture.
- (ii) To support the business development of startups selected in (i) above within Japan. This support is expected to include matchmaking assistance with companies operating in Aichi Prefecture, as well as mentoring for the selected startups.
Information regarding the Program themes and categories, various deadlines, support details, and Sponsor requirements is accessible via the Program website.

The following conditions apply to Submissions:
- Submissions must be independently created by the startup.

Document screening and online pitch evaluations will be conducted from Monday, May 18 through Friday, June 26, 2026. The announcement of finalists (selected startups) is scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2026.
Phase 3 — Pre-Arrival Preparation Phase
From approximately Monday, July 20 through Friday, August 21, 2026, participants will complete preparations for their visit to Japan, including refinement of pitch materials, selection of target companies to approach, and participation in preliminary online matchmaking sessions.
Phase 4 — Matching Phase
The mandatory in-person stay in Aichi Prefecture for selected startups is scheduled from Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28, 2026. Selected startups will have the opportunity to participate in both online and in-person events, as well as access matchmaking services.
Phase 5 — Follow-Up Phase
This phase runs through March 31, 2027 (the Program end date), primarily supporting continued collaboration between startups and corporate partners who were matched during the Matching Phase.
Entry and Submission Deadlines: If a participant does not upload their entry and submission to the Program website before the deadline, this will be treated as a withdrawal from the Program. Such participants will not be able to participate in the Program or receive any support from the Sponsor.
Selection Criteria: Entries and submissions will be evaluated based on the selection criteria described below. Participants acknowledge that creativity and capability in addressing challenges in the fields listed under the Program's themes and categories will be among the evaluation factors. This Program is not subject to chance or luck and should not be viewed as a speculative activity such as a lottery. Under no circumstances will factors such as physical appearance, religion, union membership, political opinion, or sexual orientation be taken into consideration.
Notification of Participants: Once the selection process is complete, participants will be notified of results by email, telephone, or other means appropriate to each phase. In the event of an unexpectedly high volume of applicants, the Sponsor may revise the results announcement date. Selected startups, as determined by the selection committee, will be announced on the announcement date and will constitute the identified participants in the Program.

Such an agreement would cover the Submission and all intellectual property contained therein.
Furthermore, participants acknowledge that companies in Aichi Prefecture introduced by the Sponsor during the Matching Phase may currently be developing—or may in the future develop—similar products, concepts, systems, services, or technologies internally or receive the same from other parties, and that these may resemble information contained in a participant's Submission. Accordingly, nothing in these rules shall prohibit the Sponsor from independently acquiring, developing, or having developed products, concepts, systems, services, or technologies that are similar to or competitive with those contained in or considered in any Submission, whether by itself or through third parties.
Participants acknowledge that other participants, individuals, or entities may have provided or disclosed—or may in the future provide or disclose—to the Sponsor or others content that is identical or similar to information contained in any entry. Accordingly, participants acknowledge, agree, and accept that the Sponsor has the right to use such identical or similar materials, and that participants are not entitled to any compensation arising from the Sponsor's use of such materials.
15. Intellectual Property
The following terms are used as defined below in this section:
- "Intellectual Property" means inventions, devices, new plant varieties, designs, works, and other creations of human creative activity (including discovered or identified natural laws or phenomena that have industrial applicability), trademarks, trade names and other indications used to identify goods or services in business activities, and trade secrets and other technically or commercially useful information for business activities.

Non-Infringement Warranty
At any phase of the Program and upon submission of a Submission, each participant warrants to the Sponsor that they are a co-owner and/or holder of intellectual property rights in all or part of the Creations contained in the submitted Submission, and that they have obtained all rights and permissions with respect to all pre-existing Creations and any elements of the Submission for which the participant does not hold the relevant rights.
Each participant warrants that: (i) their contribution is original and unprecedented; (ii) their contribution does not infringe any third-party copyright or other intellectual property rights; (iii) all elements comprising their Submission, and all contributions and information described in the submitted presentation documents, are accurate, reliable, and complete; and (iv) the submission of the relevant Submission does not constitute any form of unfair competition.
Participants are required to clearly indicate the source of any pre-existing Creations of any kind contained in the submitted material and any supporting elements. Participants are encouraged to review these rules regularly. Participants expressly waive all claims and disputes arising from any amendments to these rules made by the Sponsor.
If any provision of these rules is declared or determined to be illegal, unenforceable, or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be deemed void and of no effect, but all other provisions unaffected thereby shall remain enforceable to the extent permitted by law.

Participation in the Program implies awareness and acceptance of the characteristics, limitations, and risks inherent in the internet and related technologies, particularly with respect to performance, response times, the security of software and computer equipment against various threats such as viruses, logic bombs, and trojans, and the risk of data loss or misuse. As a result, by accepting these characteristics, limitations, and risks, participants release the Sponsor from any liability for damages incurred by participants arising therefrom.
The Sponsor shall not be liable for any damages arising from: technical failures or delays in the submission of entries or submissions by participants; rejection of submissions submitted outside the deadlines stipulated in these rules; technical failures or delays in the delivery of participant emails sent as part of the Program; or changes to Submissions made independently of the Sponsor.

The party seeking to initiate mediation must notify the other party by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt, stating their intention and explaining the grounds. If no agreement is reached between the parties within 30 days of receipt of the registered mail, both parties are free to pursue other avenues.
In the event of a continuing disagreement regarding the application or interpretation of these rules that is not resolved amicably, any disputes arising between the parties shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan, to whose jurisdiction the parties expressly submit. This applies equally in the event of multiple defendants, summary proceedings, appeals by guarantee, appeals by petition, or any other jurisdictional context.
